Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the second T20I between Australia and England from Manuka Oval Canberra. England have won the first match and are leading the three-match series 1-0.

It’s time to switch our attention from Perth to Canberra where the rest of the T20Is are scheduled to happen between arch-rivals Australia and England. The visitors have successfully cashed in a victory in the first T20I and is leading the race 1-0 at the moment.

Batting first England got to a total of 208 runs on the back of a 132 runs opening stand between Alex Hales and Jos Buttler. In reply Australia failed to chase down despite being very near to the target. David Warner was the best batter for them as he garnered 73 runs from 44 deliveries. England won the game by 8 runs.

Last match’s bowling sensation Nathan Ellis will be missing this one alongside leg spinner Mitchell Swepson as both were a part of the squad for only the 1st T20. The Australian bowling quartet – Pat Cummins Josh Hazlewood Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa is back for the last two T20Is instead.

After a close victory in the 1st T20 England will look to create history by clinching a T20 series on Australian soil for the first time. On the other hand Australia is a formidable side to act as a solid hindrance in the paths of the Three Lions.

Pitch Report: The pitch at Canberra will offer great assistance to the pace bowlers while the spinners will get a grip as the match progresses. Batters will look to utilize the powerplay and a total of 160-180 will be the par here.

Australia Team News
Aaron Finch is expected to return to his opening slot as we get closer to the World Cup. It will be interesting to see if Australia bring back all four first-choice bowlers for this clash and if they do, then Nathan Ellis will consider himself unlucky after an impressive performance in a game dominated by the batters.

England Team News
Mark Wood turned the game around on Sunday to finish with a three-wicket haul. He is vital to England’s chances in the World Cup so the possibility of him getting a rest is indeed quite high.
